cool :o
the linux installer is good I think, the bitrock installer askes for the
umask of each file, plus there is a way to change permissions for specific
files (although the feature didn't work, so I now have a post-install
script that changes the perms to +x for amsn/amsn-remote/amsn-remote-CLI)
ok all, everyone check and make sure everything is as Thomas said :
umask 755 and owner root.root

Would you like to reset all directory permissions to 755 (drwxr-xr-x) and
directory ownerships to root.root ([y]es, [n]o)? <<---
slackware makepkg has this nice little option
which i used..

Hey All,
thanks for the packages.. we might need to create new ones... it seems
you all used my .tar.gz file.. wouhou, cool, it wasn't good from the
very begining :P
well, it seems my umask is too restrictive.. others have no read access
on these files, so I have to chmod o+r -R on the directory and
recreate these packages...
you're not forced to redownload the tarball and recreate the packages,
just chmod a+rX your files.. make sure your umask is correctly set
(for newly created files during compile) and recreate your own
packages (if they have permission problems)..
some packages also seem to have wrong UID:GID and/or wrong permissions
for some files (like execute on amsn/amsn-remote/amsn-remote-CLI)
Jerome, Thanks for your Mac package, but why does it have -final in
its filename ? I'd like all filenames to be standard.. I'd like to
change it to amsn-0.95 only, but I want your approval on the '-final'
being unnecessary..
please all, make sure your packages have good permissions, your
package might be perfect in all aspects, executes, correct directory
and everything, but the permissions are not good.. try installing as
root, execute as another user, and install as user (if possible) and
execute as a different user...

BUT, just tell me, what's with mandriva ? we'll have a mandrake
package but no mandriva package ? is it the same ?
Phil, you said 'last time, whatever' in your message, I didn't
understand it.. you also said you might want to create an FC3
package... do we really want that ? isn't it too much ?
all packages are uploaded to SF.net and can be accessed from :
