I was always liked the idea of keeping them in cvs, however there were good
points made against it the last time we had the discussion and I was
outvoted.

What I suggest is if we are going to keep it in cvs then the user has to use
our plugins tracker page for any updates. They make any updates they want to
the plugin and upload it there. When it is of a stable nature they can then
put a request into devel to update the CVS however we do not guarantee on
the time it will take to update. If we are taking too long they can put in
another request...

Lio.

ok, sorry I missed this email before answering your previous one..thanks
for answering this (Arieh asking the same question as me:P).. I understand
your point.. little comment : maybe you should have asked on the ML before
taking the decision (you're admin, so you have the *power* to make
decisions on your own, but I'm saying you could have told us.. just to let
us know, that's all.. anyways, maybe that's what you did by writing this
thread originally.. anyways)... but yes, the decision was legitimate, I
understand it, and I accept it, I'm with you on this decision..
the reason why I don't like it though is because of the "I changed it, can
you update your cvs version".. especially when markitus was working on
amsn plus, he updated his plugin twice a day, so...
if we decide to go like this, then I guess we should have a mailing list
for this, with maintainers (Thomas is probably too busy to take care of
all that alone) just like we do for lang files..
