Hi, Could you please use the forums for such questions : http://amsn.sf.net/forums To answer your question, amsn is written in tcl/tk and partially in C/C++ (for webcam support and image manipulation) programming in linux is usually in C/C++, you could use java which is multiplatform and a great language (devels, please no flaming on this :P) I'm not too sure, but I think perl and python are also one of the favorites..
