You were right, check_imagemagick gave getdisppic the value -1. I turned all
if { [::config::getKey getdisppic] != 1 } into if { [::config::getKey getdisppic] == 0 } to keep compatibility with 0.94 (well, you never know). If anyone has a better idea, please fix it :) there are just 2 checks anyway, in msnp2p.tcl and in smileys.tcl !
