Agreed for linux (and mac?), but there is also some other OS.
Like I said in another mail: fedora is covered, and the RPM package is
MUCH smaller then the tarball. This would be a good thing to do for all
packages I guess, but it is a bit more work for packagers (initially,
not in the long run).
