I don't think that this is cause of the skin AT all...
Remember that the Main window of aMSN has backgrounds and some extra
pixmaps.. try to delete those and test the speed again...

Yeah, chat window resize is a bit laggy for me, too, under Kubuntu.
Also, I don't think that aMSN remembers the size of a resized chat
window anymore, since when I resized it on the laptop after a fresh SVN
install, it didn't keep it when I opened a window again. The latter is
unimportant, though.. and I might just be bringing up nothing... thought
I should mention it anyhow.
