Hey Gus, we 'hope' to get it released soon.. I remember that we were about to release it 1 year ago... yes, 0.97 was released in June 2006 (a year and half ago!) and I remember I was excited that we would release 0.97 in less than a year... I think it was around christmas time, we wanted to get 0.97 out for christmas 2006.. As you noticed, everyone is pretty busy (or slacking), so I can't tell you when it will be released.. I can say "soon" but it's been "soon" for a year now... I'll finish my exams next tuesday, then I may try to give it a shot and release it before christmas... or maybe not..
About default skin, if you have time and want to fix stuff, do it, no worries, I'll announce it to the mailing list before we release, so if you have uncommitted changes, you can commit them, if we release without your changes, it's ok, it will go in the next version that's it. In short : do it if you want to and if you have time, I can't guarantee it will be in 0.97, but whatever improvement can be done before the release, it's good.
