Hi,
you might have thought I was dead (as I didn't say anything on this list for
a long time due to all my other activities) ... and if I was I would be
rolling in my grave I guess :p
I think the issue here is that the CL is slow with all these skin
possibilities. I think it would be more then wrong to "solve" this by adding
yet another option. The only way to solve this is by making the drawing of
the CL faster or by disabling the slow skin by default and have a fast one
instead.
Instead of having an option to not use the backgrounds etc, just add a skin
without all these features and load it by default. You could ship the full
blown skin too so users who would like to have a "better looking but slower"
amsn could change to that skin.
Adding this "skinny skin" would not bloat the UI once more again but give
the same possibilities.
