oook.. so luckily enough, Rima found it online, and so, here it is for the
curious :
http://3arabtv.com/3arabtv/series/876/7854/Ebn_ElArendoli_
مسلسل_ابن_الأرندلي_-_حلقة_4.html
yeah, it's in arabic and you won't understand a thing.. but anyways, go to
the end, around the time -5:31 (yeah, minus, since that flash thing shows
the time in remaining minutes) and you should see two girls talking in front
of the PC.. then they'll talk about aMSN and you can see her loading the
website (at -5:11) ... but unfortunately, I misunderstood and we don't see
the app itself...
so anyways, it goes something like this (I think) :
First girl : any news on that guy/boyfriend?
Second girl : I don't see him on facebook or messenger
First girl : Did he vanish ?
Second girl: no, he blocked me from facebook, and on MSN he's always 'appear
offline'...
First girl: I don't really understand that stuff...
Second girl : Now I'm installing a program called A.M.S.N. (and they show
the webpage :)) this way, I can know if he's really offline or just
appearing offline
First girl : And this program will allow you to know that ?
Second girl : yeah, this program was specifically programmed for this sort
of thing...
and.. then she finds him appearing offline and automagically starts a video
chat with him over... yahoo messenger... wtf!
Anyways, it's a bit less than what I originally thought it was, but it's
still awesome to see this kind of free marketing :p I mean, they talked
about us and showed our website on a tv show.. that's cool! :)
What pisses me off though is that...
1 - aMSN doesn't allow you to see when someone is appearing offline..
2 - why would they say, it was specifically designed for that kind of
stuff...
3 - wtf was that about suddendly starting a yahoo messenger webcam session
(which works on a 'appear offline' contact on the MSN network... and which
starts streaming audio and video without the user accepting it or
anything...)
4 - Did you see the webpage loading? wtf! Is she on 56K modem or what!??!
That is just sad...
anyways, that's it! However, sorry Tom.. because of the above points, I
think we'll have to forget about the "As seen on TV" ad for the website :p
see ya!
