It is fairly unusual to have the access log and error logs combined, but 
I doubt that would give you that particular error message, although it 
might. If you could show us several sample lines from your log file and 
the setting of the LOGFORMAT command, if any, in your configuration file, 
it should be possible to give you a much better explination of what is 
going on.
