I am running Analog 3.11 locally in Windows 95 using downloaded files. I
have some files that have been compressed using Gzip. These files are
named www.yymmdd.gz and I have downloaded them as binary files.
The unzipped gzip.exe file is resident in my local file folder "Logs".

Based on Analog 3.11 documentation I have entered the following commands in
my config file:

LOGFILE C:\Logs\vir_logs\www.9812*
UNCOMPRESS www.*.gz "c:\Logs\gzip -cd"
ALL OFF
FULLDAILY ON
REFERRER ON
REFFLOOR 1r
REFSITE ON
REFSITEFLOOR 1r
OUTFILE virdec.htm

When I execute the Analog program, it processes all of the non-compressed
files perfectly, but does not process any of the .gz files. The same holds
true when I only try reading a days worth of a compressed file in. Can
anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Also, when I execute Analog, a DOS window comes up briefly while it is
running and gives messages but it goes away too quickly to read the
messages. I know there has to be a way to keep that DOS window open so I
can review the output, but how?

One final question -we are capturing extended logs which includes search
criteria used by search engines that refer to our site. In one case on our
Referrer Report it shows:
           54: http:// search.yahoo.com/bin/search
           13: http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=maui+condos.
If I interpret this correctly, it means that 13 of the 54 requests from
yahoo used the search criteria of maui+condos. Is the second line what
would be considered a sub-domain? I would like to see that information
for every request that comes from a search engine. Can I do that and what
do I need to add to my config file to request it?

Thanks again for taking the time to help out a neophyte. It seems the
more I learn, the more I find that I don't know.
