I running Linux on a HP Pavillion 7120 (Pentium 133 MHz).

My co-worker had already attempted to solve the problem with all the LOWMEM
options and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. He thought that using
cache files might help. Does this make any sense?

I'm trying to process logs regarding an internet site of a newspaper and so
need daily, weekly and monthly statistiques available to be reviewed but
(zipped) they only take up about 23K.
