It would seem to me that this might give you some really
misleading numbers. Each time a visitor makes a request
for a URL like this:
http://www.yoursite.com
the web server redirects the user's browser to
http://www.yoursite.com/
If you count redirects as hits, you'll count requests like
this twice, when really, only one page was viewed by a visitor.
