I for one thought of doing the same thing, I would find it useful. I want to
keep the log files for a little while, rolling them over each night, but run
analog only on the most recent each night.

I have several work-arounds, either specifying the log file name on the
command line as access_log.`date +%d` or making a symlink with a constant name
when rolling over the log. So it's not exactly a pressing issue. In fact I
would have argued against including the feature with OUTPUTFILE since it could
just as easily be done these ways without the added complexity.

Incidentally, has anyone written any alternative documentation to the main docs?
