You should be able to just specify the filespec directly on the command

Well, if it taks a long time to gunzip everything, it's going to take a
long time for Analog to do it too. So it may not be hung, it may just be
busy.
You might want to turn on debugging to see where how far Analog is
getting (+VF on the command line, to just show file open/close
commands).
