You don't have to, but Analog doesn't have a graphical interface window,
so you either use Notepad to edit the CFG file, or you run it from the 
command line and set the arguments that way. I find that if I'm working 
with more than one log file, it's quicker to use the command prompt to 
switch between them, but if I'm changing the types of reports, or 
reporting options, it's quicker to edit the CFG file. I also keep some 
"canned" CFG files, and it's quicker for me to run one of these reports 
from the command line.
