Hello, I'm using Analog 4+ on a Unix machine. I'm trying to get web stats for our external site without including the misleading stats from our internal users (i.e. just interested in page requests from people outside our company). I've tried using DNS write etc to create a lookup file so I can translate the IP adresses in our log files to the domain name. However, this took 3 days and did not end up excluding the desired hosts (i.e. the people from our company with our domain name). Perhaps they can't be resolved??Any ideas?? My next step was to use HOSTEXCLUDE with the IP address like this. HOSTEXCLUDE 252.232.145.* Thus signifying that any IP address with this string plus whatever numbers (*) will be excluded. This works and is reflected in the stats. I'm still working with our IT department to make sure I have included all the ranges of IP addresses. Another thing I have done is to use the USEREXCLUDE. This also works but is only really useful for eliminating internal users (from our company) that have high numbers of page requests. Any ideas that could be passed my way would be much appreciated. The end goal being able to eliminate all page requests from internal company users so that the stats present a "real" picture of what is happening with our web site.
