The last entry in the file you sent me was 09/Apr/2000:04:40:31. I get the
same result directly, without using analog:

% gzcat old_access_log.2000Apr.gz | tail -1
proxy-server.rdc-kc.rr.com - - [09/Apr/2000:04:40:31 -0400] "GET / HTTP/1.0"
200 - "-" "Mozilla/3.01 (compatible;)"

If you're seeing some later entries, it looks like there is something wrong
with your gz file, rather than with the way analog is treating it.
