what I do is:

use Apache's logrotate to make new log every 24 hours; I then have several
scripts (in REXX) that: split the logs into virtual host logs, run log
resolve, gzip and move to each v host folder, run Analog against each v
host (only *if* it has target /analog directory, otherwise, skip), and
delete all logs older than 12 month, (EXCEPT my own...), check that Analog
has been run, and page me if it hasn't.

some of the scripts are perhaps a bit crude... but, they work

*IF* you can run REXX, you're welcomed to these scripts (I know zilch
about REXX on windoze, though I beleive it can be used - whether any
libraries I've used exist on windoze, that's another Q..
I'd think... most of this stuff could be done even with some batch files,
essentially, that what my scripts are... (just remember, if they wipe your
hard disk clean, there is no need to thank me for the free space you gained,
;>)

anyway, if that help you at all, you can download my REXX scripts from
ftp.sbt.net.au in /cmd folder

(if you have any Qs about them, I'll gladly reply when I return in few days,
I'm off for a few days)
