I solved the problem with the working directory tip. Furthermore I have a
small analog.cfg in the cgi-bin folder with one line inside, a reference to
the e:\analog\analog.cfg file.

These are the setting in the E:\analog\analog.cfg I added, everything else
is from the example file.

LOGTIMEOFFSET +120
LANGUAGE GERMAN
DOMAINSFILE E:\ANALOG\LANG\DEADOM.TAB
LANGFILE E:\ANALOG\LANG\DEA.LNG

If you find the problem, let me know. I have never been able to get the
form interface to work. The steps I went through are identical to yours.
Have you run the anlgform.pl from the command line? Usually you will be a
more detailed message regarding the problem. I always got that it could not
open the language file - I moved it, tried many variations of the path
statement - never got it to work.

Best of luck!!!

Subject: [analog-help] IIS and Perl: No feetback

: Hello,
: I'm a new user of analog. I installed analog 4.11 at my IIS4; Sp6a Server.
: When I start analog.exe, it will produce the result.htm file - everything
is
: like my .cfg configuration.
:
: Now I have problems with the perl script. I Active Perl 5.6.0.617 (actual
: download) and copied the demo files to the web page.
:
: When I start anlgform.htm I can start the anlgform.pl. The server will
start
: perl.exe and the result at my browser is the error no 500 (internal server
: failure)
:
: When I start anlgform.pl directly, I will get the following message at my
: browser:
: Program Failure
: Analog failed to run or returned an error code.
: Maybe your server's error log will give a clue why. [Fri Sep 15 12:48:56
: 2000] E:\Internetseiten\zoz.de\cgi-bin\anlgform.pl: "e:\analog\analog.exe"
: failed to run or returned an error code. Died at
: E:\Internetseiten\zoz.de\cgi-bin\anlgform.pl line 109.
:
: So, the next thing I tried is to rename the .pl file to .plx, because I
: found in the readme of ActivePerl that the .plx files are started as an
: ISAPI program and the .pl are run with perl.exe (just a performance
: advantage)
:
: With the plx extension the server will start analog.exe and nerver stop
it.
: When I start it five times I have five times the analog.exe in the
server's
: task manager and I'm not allowed to stop the task.
:
: What is the failure ? All of you are able to run the perl script, but not
me
: :-(
