Hi! I posted the following message on Tuesday, but no one replied. I've had another couple of tries since, with no better success. What I forgot to mention is that I've tried all the punctuation variations possible round the D:\analog\gzip -cd command. I've also searched the archives for the last 8 months but didn't find a similar problem. Please, someone, somewhere, tell me what I'm doing wrong, before I tear my hair out rebooting the so-and-so computer. Brian
Please help a newbie! I put in the line UNCOMPRESS *.gz (D:\analog\gzip -cd) When attempting to run it, I get the following: D:\path: analog version 4.16/Win32 F: Closing ... analog.cfg F: Opening lang/uk.lng ... F: Closing ...lang/uk.lng F: Opening lang/ukdom.tab ... F: Closing ... lang/ukdom.tab F: Opening d:\webstat\www.20010101.gz as logfile whereupon the system crashes. Message This program has performed an illegal operation and will be terminated. Quit all programs, and then restart your computer ... The program encountered an invalid page exception: Fault location 0028:0009 Interrupts in service: None. If I comment out the uncompress line, the software runs normally but it gives the statistics only for a single day, when the file was not converted to gz. If I run: d:\analog\gzip -cd d:\webstat\*.* from the run line, I can see the decompression running, no problem, ad nauseam, for the 60 odd days since the start of the year. System PIII/650 128 Mb memory with W98SE Can anyone help, please? Brian
