Initially I thought that the list of search engines (and query
parameters used to extract search phrases and words) was quite
comprehensive. But after looking through my list of referrers with
parameters switched on, it became plain that there are a large number
of search engines, and some with varying query parameter names.

E.g. the supplied config file has

 SEARCHENGINE http://*ask.*/* ask

and one of my referrers is:

http://www.ask.co.uk/main/askjeeves.asp?ask_ondigital=secondhand+steam...

so I changed the above to

 SEARCHENGINE http://*ask.*/* ask,ask_ondigital

But there are quite a lot more, e.g.:

http://www.mamma.com/Mamma?query=www.wheels.co.uk&qtype=0&x=22&y=13
http://about.mamma.com/About?query=Midland+Red+motorway
http://www.searchalot.com/texis/open/meta?q=wheels&relatedclick=y
http://world.voila.com/S/msie4_uk?an=1&kw=+shop+anti+theft+tagging&dc=uk
http://www.bushinternet.com/search/multisearch?searchurl=http://www.google.com/&scope=virgin&querystring=model+buses&search_type=web&start=10&output=protocol&sa=N&format=1

And so on. All of the above search phrases/words are omitted from the
Search reports.

Is there a procedure for keeping an up to date list of these matches?
Seems like a full time job!

Incidentally, there are some searchengines which have a combination of
generic names in their url, such as

   http://uk.google.yahoo.com

or the above bushinternet URL which contains a
searchurl=http://www.google.com parameter.

Is it the *first* match in the list of SEARCHENGINE entries which
always succeeds?

Thanks

Colin
