I'm running Analog 3.90beta3 on Windows 2000 with service pack 1. I have "DNS WRITE" and "DNSFILE dnscache" and "DEBUG +D" in the config file. My server log file mostly contains resolved hostnames, but there are a few IP addresses. When running analog it displays a message that it is looking up an IP address but then there is no further activity. After a couple of minutes I pressed CTRL-C and it displayed a message which said that it had detected the interrupt and would exit. However the command prompt did not return and the whole console window seemed to have frozen. After a few minutes while I was doing something unrelated Windows crashed with a blue screen and a "PROCESS_HAS_LOCKED_PAGES" error message. I repeated all of the above with the same results, including the blue screen. I haven't had this happen with other console apps. Any thoughts on what the problem might be? Incidentally, beware the "MindCrawler v4.0" from 195.215.12.139 ! I was quite excited to see requests rocketing on our site over the last week or so, but when I examined the server logs a little closer it seems that 85% of all requests were "MindCrawler" coming from this address. It was drilling down through all of our cgi scripts including our dynamic online shopping pages .... on and on it went, even through to the checkout pages! It even requested graphics files if they appeared in an HREF tag! I didn't realise robots could be so STUPID! Perhaps the originating site had configured it badly. I've now created a robots.txt file to tell it to ignore all /cgi-bin files - and keeping my fingers crossed. Cheers Colin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
