Well, I did it the old way again.

I printed out the old config files, and went through the new ones, manually
changing lines.

I don't know if there is a wish list for this program or not, but here is
mine:

create a generic "Analog" directory (without the version # attached) when
extracting the files.

then you could run a setup type program which reads in your settings from
the old to the new program, or give you the option of taking a default set
of values.

this would help me save time.

P.S. I used the STATUSINCLUDE command for 403, 404, and 408 files and just
wanted to say it worked and I was able to use the results favorably.

Thanks. That is what I did as well, when I went from 4.15 to 4.90B2 and
also from 4.90B2 to 4.90B3.

I ditched the 4.15 version completely (I can't spend all my time minding 2
of these!).

I was just wondering if there was an easier way. The old fashioned way is
to just print out the old config files, and then reenter it into the new
ones. This should work as well, but just takes more of what we have so
little of: time.

Thanks for your helpful suggestion.

Doug,

I don't know if this is the optimal way of upgrading, but this is what I
did.

First, I extracted the 4.90Bx files to a new folder, keeping the 4.15
folder
intact.

Then, I loaded the configuration file I was using for 4.15 into my text
editor and then loaded the new configuration file from 4.90B3 into my text
editor. My text editor has a way of showing two files side by side. I then
moved my settings from the 4.15 file to the new file. There are new
features
in 4.90B3 - I just didn't want to lose any settings I had. I didn't notice
any automatic upgrade facility.

Then, I run the program from the new folder. I have kept the older 4.15
folder just in case I encounter problems with the beta.

That's all I did and it works fine. By the way there is a later beta
version - 4.90B4.

Analog is a cross platform application, so it doesn't use any platform
specific configurations (registry entries, etc). Just overwrite the old
executable file with the new version. If there are any changes in the way
Analog handles defaults it will be documented in the What's New section.
