I found the problem, but still would like to know "why".
Some of the records don't have a username since they are public requests, by
removing the space between the - and the %u it started working.
LOGFORMAT (%S %v -%u [%d/%M/%Y:%h:%n:%j] "%j %r" %c %b "%f" "%B")
However, ANALOG was putting the asterick directly in line with the dash in the
time zone information when you were telling me the time zone wasn't the trouble.
It would be nice if there was a way to route the console output with standard
redirection, or to print the lines in error to an error file.
