Unfortunately I do not know if it handles compressed log files. I have
searched high and low including original documentation, newsgroups and major
search engines. The only reference I came across is from the analog-help
forum by a subscriber "Nancy S. Brown" who indicated her log files was in
.gz format when she used QuickDNS. I will try emailing the author of
QuickDNS. Thank you for your help.

I know nothing about QuickDNS (it's a third-party tool, unrelated to
analog), but are you sure it handles compressed logfiles at all?
