I tend to see it the other way round, that that one file allows me to get
rid of 400k of hard to use separate pieces of documentation. I can see
that it's much more efficient to serve individual small pages over the
web, but for reading documentation locally (either on your own machine, or
over an Intranet), my own experience suggests that the single large
document is advantageous.

This may be because I've been working with analog long enough that I half
remember reading about features that I didn't care about at the time, but
do now, and a quick search through the whole.html page often helps me to
track it down.
