This is related to IIS5 configured to run a custom .asp page to handle 404
errors...
We have a custom 404 error redirection script which takes users to the home
page when a page is not found. Unfortunately, if an image is broken on a
page, the browser's request for that image results in calling the script
which then generates a hit to the home page by doing a response.redirect.
The user (fortunately) does not see this, but it generates a lot of bogus
page views.
1) Is there any way in analog to ignore the redirection hits? Unfortunately,
the referer is listed as a valid page, so I can't see any way to filter
these out, distinct from an actual click from that page to the home page:

2) Any ideas on what the 404 script *should* return for a broken image?

Sorry, I know this is more a programming question than a question about
analog, but it is something analog users should be aware of if their web
developers are using custom pages to redirect users...those custom pages can
generate "invisible" page views that give the false impression of high
traffic on the site. If you see a situation where there are just way too
many pageviews, this is something to look out for.
