Hi guys,

I need your help. When I run analog for my virtual domains, I have no
problems, but when I try to run analog on my global logs I keep
getting the following error:

*** malloc[3096]: error: Can't allocate region
mach_port_type() failed (ipc/rcv) msg too large
task_get_bootstrap_port() failed (ipc/mig) wrong reply message ID

It should not give me a memory error because the logs are few and
small (21 logs, largest around 6000 lines), and "top" shows me (while
analog is running) that I have plenty of memory (the server has 640MB
of RAM):

PhysMem: 65.8M wired, 20.6M active, 129M inactive, 215M used, 425M free
VM: 1.03G + 42.9M 23402(0) pageins, 52(0) pageouts

I have also set in my config file:

FILELOWMEM 2
HOSTLOWMEM 2
BROWLOWMEM 3
REFLOWMEM 3
USERLOWMEM 3
VHOSTLOWMEM 2

by the way, DNS is set to WRITE.

So why am I getting these memory errors?

I am running analog 5.03 under Mac OS X 10.0.4, and on my other Mac
OS 9 servers I am processing logs that are 100 times larger without
problems!

Thanks in advance for your help,
Charles
