Hello, I'm a newbie to the list and to Analog--any advice and assitance will be most appreciated!
Analog was downloaded from the website and installed on my computer. We using Ezproxy on an Linux server to proxy and authenticate user access to fee-based databases available through our library. Only individuals in the password file (or those IP's that are exempted) are allowed access. I FTP over the log file (exproxy.log) to my Windows 98 machine. The idea is to get statistics on the use of these fee-based databases by analyzing the exproxy log file. The analog.cfg file is edited to specify the path of the logfile, i.e.: LOGFILE \Ezproxy\exproxy.log The problem is that Analog is not reading, or is at least "ignoring," the exproxy.log file. When analog.exe is either clicked on in Windows or run manually from DOS, no output file appears as it is supposed to do (report.html) When executed in DOS, one of the errors given is: Warning F: Failed to open logfile \Exproxy\exproxy.log: ignoring it. Looking in the Analog "Errors and Warnings" documention on the Analog website, Category F errors are the most serious. But this specific error is not covered in the listing. The error message itself does not give a reason why the logfile is ignored or what to do about it. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem may be? Why is Analog "ignoring" the exproxy.log file? Thanks!
