Thanks, Aengus. You have given me two solutions and a new problem or two. 1. I needed to copy the contents of the analog images directory to the images directory for where the output ends up. It should have been obvious to me. Now that is done, the bar chart appears.
2. In a computer readable list of urls in the reportamagic results page (yes, we do process html as asp in some places: it was to allow the use of #include directives without the .shtml extension, with which there were security problems at one time)...in that list of urls's, there was one for a statistics gathering script where the querystring had some html code in it, including the opening of a comment (<!--) without -->. I have edited this out and the page now renders itself in the browser. NEW PROBLEMs: The domain report is rendered in the RMagic output as near gibberish - it looks like this (the beginning of it) o *f 0B b o lRb 1 250321 46.582 .uk (United Kingdom) o lRb 2 237259 42.867 ac.uk (UK academic sites) o lRb 3 228353 40.611 essex.ac.uk (University of Essex) o lRb 1 44813 16.601 .com (Commercial) o lRb 1 50112 15.381 [unresolved numerical addresses] etc Does that ring any bells with anyone? I think this may be because ReportMagic 2.03 needs upgrading to keep pace with Analog. I should try a reportmagic mailing list perhaps. In the copy of analog.cfg used by Reportmagic, I had not commented out BROWOUTPUTALIAS Mozilla Netscape, which was required by the analog upgrade, and in both the analog.cfg files there are other BROWOUTPUTALIAS entries - should they be removed too?
