if you want Analog to resolve "fresh" IP addresses that aren't already in the DNS cache file, then you have to use DNS WRITE. DNS READ only reads existing records from the file. If you get new visitors, coming from new IP addresses, then they won't be added to the DNS file if you use DNS READ, and they will show up as unresolved addresses in the Analog reports.
