Hi,

several persons had similar problems before, but the answers I found in the archive didn't help me.

I've turned on DNS resolution, SETTINGS ON and DEBUG +D:

DNS level is WRITE
DNS file is /usr/local/analog-5.24/dnscache
DNS lock file is /usr/local/analog-5.24/dnslock
Resolved DNS entries rechecked if older than 100000 hours
Unresolved DNS entries rechecked if older than 336 hours
Abort DNS lookups after 5 seconds

but I get 91% of unresolved numerical addresses with Analog 5.24 on SGI IRIX 6.5.17m.

Tips:

1) nslookup (in the same machine) can resolve much more addresses than analog
2) Analog 5.24 running on Windows 2K (same analog.cfg, log file, DNS cache file, 1st and 2nd DNS name servers, LAN settings) can resolve much more addresses than analog 5.24 on IRIX (only 30% unresolved).
3) The DNS resolving process on IRIX is faster (3x) than on Windows 2K, but both machines have similar SPEC rates.

Is this a bug in Analog running on IRIX 6.5?
A bug in IRIX 6.5?
Do I need extra settings on analog.cfg?

Or should I go to an external DNS resolver? (I would like to do everything with Analog).

Thanks a lot

Manuel
