You need to write your styles into a stylesheet file, e.g. styles.css and then include it in the reports with the STYLESHEET command. See http://analog.cx/docs/output.html#STYLESHEET. Note that you have to manually upload the stylesheet to your server. Analog expects STYLESHEET to point to a URL.
To use a background image, the style command is background-image, although the background shortcut property works, too.
