All good stuff. For me, standards based is the way to go. My (analog
internals naiive) vote is for an XML output engine native to analog. There
are many third party tools that are xml capable, perhaps also requiring the
appropriate schemas and style sheets. 

A simple default implementation would make it much easier to customize the
analog reports than at present. Perhaps even the labels and other text could
go into these files...

Except that really, we want Analog to be able to do this in the first place.
