These are Mac fixes. (I see in the version history that reading gzipped log files is a brand new v5.30 feature -- being brand new to Analog myself, I didn't know that, Klaus.)

The problem is fixed! (It must have been unique to the Macintosh port.) The results are now identical whether or not the log files are compressed. And they are different from both sets of results that I was getting before! And no errors are reported.
