Stephen,

We've switched from two different Perl logfile analyzers (one for HTTP,
one for FTP) to analog. I am very pleased with it so far! I would like
to make a couple requests that would make it even more useful to us. (I
am using version 5.32.)

First (and more important to me), I could really use an expansion for
hostname in the same places where you can expand %Y for the year, %M for
month, etc. The reason is that we collect logs from all our servers to a
single server for processing & reporting, and it would be nice to have the
*CHARTDIR directives in the config file, rather than customized on the
command line to keep graphs separated by server as well as by year and
month.

Second, I chose analog in part because it was described as being able to
parse ftpd logs as well as httpd logs. I discovered that it can be made
to do so via the LOGFORMAT directive, but that it doesn't have a built-in
format string for ftpd log processing. I have developed a LOGFORMAT for
wu-ftpd logs; maybe it would be useful to include it in the distribution
so analog could autorecognize those logs as well.

Note that I do have workarounds for both these problems; it would just be
convenient, probably for many users, not just me, if they were included in
the standard distribution.

Thank you.
