We write our log files as rawlog_yymmdd.tmp and in our analog config file
you use rawlog*.tmp.  This works fine.

Use wildcards pointed at a suitably structured directory of archived logs
perhaps?

Hold the required date ranges in separate config files called as necessary
on the command line.
