Be careful with www.evrsoft.com. I've used 1st Page 2000 and it's
pretty good. Has a lot of features. Not as good as ColdFusion Studio
or something like that, but for free, it's excellent. But the download
from the evrsoft.com website, from what I remember when I got it last
year or so, had a virus in it. I actually downloaded it a long time
ago, when it was first out and it had a virus. Then I tried a while
later and it still had a virus. So I'm not sure I trust that site
anymore. So you might want to get it from tucows.com or downloads.com.

Another excellent one (and pardon if this is repeating) is HTMLKit.
http://www.chami.com/html-kit/ You can add plugins to it to give you
more functionality. It's pretty nice. And it's also free.

My two cents.
Alec

Mick,

There's a free editor called 1st Page 2000 Version 2, available from
http://www.evrsoft.com, that was recommended a couple of years ago in
another forum I subscribe to.

I haven't used it but it seemed to be well thought of.

You didn't include an email for contacting you directly!

Regards,

David Waters

Subject: [analog-help] Off Topic - HTML Editor for Windows

Sorry all - but I'm hoping you can help!

My 70 year old friend who has just become fascinated with computers
wants to
learn HTML code. I'm trying to find him a basic editor for Windows (I
use
PageSpinner on a Mac) which will just do simple things like colour the
tags
etc. or perhaps even put in the correct elements for a "blank" table.
Any
suggestions (direct to me if more appropriate) gratefully received.
