The third-party resolvers that seem to get the most discussion here are 
jdresolve and QuickDNS (Windows). We've used DNSTran for years without problems 
on a Debian box. It's pre-compiled.

Analog has a COMPRESS command that is intended to uncompress log files (Analog 
internally supports tar, gzip and zip). You can leverage this command to run 
any pre-process on a log file as long as it sends the processed file to STDOUT.
