mmmm... not sure what you are referring to, can you be more specific? We have not changed the way we measure pageviews for 2 years There are improvements/fixes continously done to the system and those get documented here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Page_view#Change_log FYI, we have opened a ticket for this issue: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T170845 Without looking at it in detail there are many possible causes: removal of "bad" pageviews (like requests for banners) or drop of traffic due to having less bots.
