Hello! I pray you are doing well. If you have some time, I'd like some clarity into a word study I recently did on hope/wait in Isaiah 40:31. "Those who HOPE in the Lord will renew their strength." (NIV) "Yet those who WAIT for the Lord will gain new strength." (NASB) The difference here somewhat confused me since in today's terms, wait and hope mean something different. So, I wanted to research the Hebrew word for wait/hope. The Hebrew word used here is qawa. Translating to ancient Hebrew is (R-L) Quph Vav Hey ==> Time Secure Breath. How do I accurately interpret this? Is this the Hebrew's way of saying those who "allow time to secure their breath" in the Lord will renew their strength, or those who "allow the Lord to secure their breath in time" will renew their strength? I'm trying to get a visual picture of "waiting" and/or "hoping" in the Lord in order to renew one's strength. I appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks.
