hallo ancient_hebrew's crew, good morning.

I am sorry about my english, I am Indonesian.

I have some questions... it is about your article about tov & ra'
http://www.ancient-hebrew.org/12_goodbad.html

you wrote that: "Can good exist without the bad? Absolutely not, how could you
judge something to be good if you cannot compare it to something bad? The same
is true for all other concepts."

I believe that good can exist without bad, because :
- Jesus, in the bible say G-D is Good (Mark 10:18), how can G-D is bad at the
same time?
- G-D exist before fallen angel created, so Good exist before bad.

and than you wrote that: "Let us take light and darkness as an example. We see
light as good and darkness as bad. The idea of light brings to mind such things
as God, truth and love. Darkness on the other hand invokes Satan, lies and
hate. To the Orientals, including the Hebrews, both are equally necessary as
one cannot exist without the other. In the Bible God is seen as a God of light
as well as darkness "And the people stood at a distance and Moses approached
the heavy darkness where God was." (Exodus 20:21). If you stare at the sun,
which is pure light, what happens? You become blind. If you are standing in a
sealed room with no light, what happens? You are again blind. Therefore, both
light and darkness are bad and yet, both are good. In order to see we must
block out some of the light as well as some of the darkness."

but the bible say: "And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle,
neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall
reign for ever and ever (Rev 22:5)."

- is night mean dark or darkness? (see Genesis 1:5)
- is it mean there is a time that light can exist without darkness?

sorry about my questions, it is the first time for me...

thank you for the answer.

once again, sorry about my english.
