I believe it's what Jeff calls "Late Semitic".  This is also based on numerous 
finds that have been carbon dated to approximately that time. (I know...I can 
hear the arguments now.)  If you look at the fonts, the Late Semitic is less 
pictographic than Early Semitic & Paleo.  Some people place Late Semitic in the 
time of David.  Other people say that the 'block' style Hebrew started around 
the time of Moses...but I can't remember where I got that.  It's been awhile 
since I've looked into it.
