the letter "aleph" has meaning. 
[as does each of the other letters of each word in Hebrew language]
that is part of how the written words were created.

That same section has the meanings of the other letters in the Hebrew words.
How the letters are put together to form the word 
is part of understanding the concept [thing or action] that the written word 
represents or is expressing.

aleph wasn't orginally a silent letter.  probably was used as a vowel "a" (like 
in cat)
[Modern English uses silent letters when spelling some words. Some dialects of 
modern French drop the final sound of words, too.] Perhaps these are related?

i am studying hebrew alphabet and i dont understand why a letter "aleph" has to 
be at the end of some words like: &#1504;&#1464;&#1489;&#1460;&#1497;&#1488; 
(prophet),(she)&#1492;&#1460;&#1497;&#1488;
if anybody could help my it would be cool
