Hi all,

I'm a Java/JEE developer who is looking at android. I have downloaded the
SDK and Eclipse Ganymede. I've installed the Android plugin for Eclipse as
well. I've set the location of the SDK within Eclipse. After creating an
Android project through Eclipse, I try to run it and get the following
messages in the console:

[2008-07-13 09:14:07 - android1] ------------------------------
[2008-07-13 09:14:07 - android1] Android Launch!
[2008-07-13 09:14:07 - android1] The connection to adb is down, and a severe
error has occured.
[2008-07-13 09:14:07 - android1] You must restart adb and Eclipse.
[2008-07-13 09:14:07 - android1] Please ensure that adb is correctly located
at 'C:\android\android-sdk_m5-rc15_windows\tools\adb.exe' and can be
executed.

The adb.exe IS executable - I even created an External Tool in eclipse to
run it with no arguments and that runs fine. The adb process isn't
running. I can run the emulator from windows explorer and 'dos' with no
problems. There's nothing in the Eclipse logs that gives any clues.

Can anyone help? Running on Vista Home Premium, Eclipse Ganymede, Android
M5 RC15, Java 1.6.0_05.

Many thanks,

Dave
