I've looked some more at the wifi api, and I don't believe it can solve for point 1, because I'd basically need one of the phones to act as an access point, which doesn't seem to be supported, and anyway probably not the best idea :) Also it seems that BT was pulled at the last minute for 1.0 SDK. So I'm basically out of options unless someone has another idea??
