I have the G1 and it is amazing so far. I have run into that same problem. Programs in the market place install automatically, but programs downloaded directly do not. I am trying to figure out how to install them. Looking for any help. I did not experiment with the emulator first, so don't know if the answer is there somehow? Please Help
