Hi All,

If I were able to get an unlocked TMobile G1 (not from TMobile
themselves), would I be able to access the internet from it? I know I
wouldn't be able to get on the TMobile network, but I'm wondering if
I'd be able to use the WiFi to access my wireless LAN. I'm doing a
proof-of-concept app and don't really want to subscribe to TMobile for
2 years just to do a demo.

I'm assuming the G1 is the only available hardware right now with
Android on it (I'm not interested in trying to flash it onto some
other smartphone). I'm not interested in the G1 per se; I just need
some hardware to run it on for a demo.

Also, I'm guessing that a user would be able to go to any website and
download an app to their Android phone. Is this true? Would I be able
to put the app on my website and direct people there to download it?
I understand that's not a great idea from a marketing point-of-view:
I'm just wondering about it from a technical point-of-view.

Thanks,

Tim
