You won't need a degree, but you will need to start to learn how to
program.
I suggest you take a beginning programming course in Java, maybe at
your
local Community College or if thats not possible, you might start at a
site such as
 this one...

The abstractions used in Android are somewhat sophisticated to grasp
for someone
who has absolutely no programming experience.
